The firm’s head of data science and data engineering has decided not to return from parental leave, BEST EXECUTION can confirm.
Sam Livingstone joined Jupiter in December 2018 to build out a data science team in the firm’s technology division, before moving over to fund management in 2020.
He was formerly a data scientist within Citadel’s global equities team, and has also held positions as a quantitative research analyst with Schroders, Towers Watson and ION Trading. He started his career as a sales trader with IG Group.
Livingstone is also the founder of EcoAI, a fintech start-up in partnership with University College London (UCL) which optimises energy in buildings using artificial intelligence.
“We can confirm that Sam has decided not to return to the firm from his shared parental leave,” said a spokesperson from Jupiter Asset Management.
“He plans to spend his time focusing on his growing family and completing his PHD.”
