Commonwealth Bank has appointed Jason Todd as chief investment officer for its private banking and wealth business.
Todd has close to three decades of industry experience, and joins Commonwealth Bank from Macquarie Group. He spent more than eight years with the firm, first as head of Australian macroeconomic research before becoming head of wealth management investment strategy.
Prior to this, he was head of Hong Kong and China equities at CIMB Securities (Hong Kong). He began his career in New York as a US and global equity strategist, a role he held for more than 12 years.
Commenting on his appointment via LinkedIn, Todd said: “I look forward to working with a new management team, an experienced investment research team and a team of wealth management and private banking professionals as we leverage a market leading franchise and seek to build out a best in class offering for Commonwealth Private’s high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
