Brightwell taps Bloomberg for EMS

Defined benefit pension scheme Brightwell has selected EMSX, Bloomberg’s multi-asset execution management solution (EMS), for its end-to-end futures and options trading investment workflows.

The appointment will grant Brightwell access to a broad pool of liquidity, Bloomberg stated, thanks to connectivity between EMSX and Bloomberg’s request for quote solution RFQe. Through RFQe clients can stage orders and trade with selected market makers on a trading venue, minimising the need for manual processes and providing a range of reportable information for the price taker and maker.

Brightwell is also using Bloomberg’s transaction cost analysis solution, BTCA, which integrates with EMSX to capture trading workflows and product post-trade analytics via automated alerts and flexible reporting.

Pooja Sehgal, portfolio manager at Brightwell, said: “Today’s dynamic markets make it more important than ever to have efficient and streamlined tools to help generate investment performance. Using EMSX and BTCA enables us to continue to provide our clients with the well-informed results and value they rely on from Brightwell.”

Phil McCabe, global head of EMS and trading analytics at Bloomberg, commented: “Firms are looking for ways to optimise workflows, and delivering an integrated offering helps us to support our clients’ investment processes and enables them to benefit from improved decision making and reporting processes.”
