The Security Traders Association of Chicago (STAC) has appointed Broadway Technology’s global head of sales and account management, Dan Romanelli, as president.
The organisation, which represents security trading professionals and claims to “work to improve the ethics, business standards and working environment for its members”, said Romanelli’s 25-years of international FinTech experience will be vital as it “spearheads new initiatives”.
Romanelli told Best Execution that his new role at STAC would focus on “providing value to membership” in a post-Covid environment.
He added that educating professionals on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues will be integral to his role, in particular understanding the efficacy of sustainable financial products.
“Our ESG and sustainability efforts are focused on providing education on these topics as they apply to investment products and vehicles. ESG issues – including bonds and exchange traded funds – have attracted a lot of attention and even mandates from asset managers, and continued review of their performance relative to their mission is critical,” Romanelli said.
Romanelli’s first engagement with membership comes next week at STAC’s 97th annual Mid-Winter Meeting.
Romanelli’s previous roles cover exchanges, broker dealers, clearing firms and vendors.
Prior to Broadway he served as co-founder and chief strategy officer of USAM Group where he collaborated with clients to understand their business needs and advise them how to quickly and cost effectively grow revenue and drive data strategy, policy and data management best practices.
Earlier positions included senior consultant at Delta Risk, vice president of NYSE Euronext and vice president of Merrill Lynch.
