The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has appointed Adam Wood as Turquoise global CEO and head of equities trading commercial proposition, replacing Dr Robert Barnes who left at the end of last year after nine years.Â
Wood, who will report to LSEG’s CEO Julia Hoggett, will be responsible for running and growing both Turquoise venues in Europe and UK. He will also have oversight of the equities trading commercial proposition.
Wood was previously head of Turquoise Europe and securities trading specialist sales.
Prior to joining Turquoise in January 2019, Wood was director of prime brokerage sales at BCS Global Markets where he was responsible for synthetic prime brokerage and supported financing and trading access to emerging markets.
His previous roles include relationship management at ABN Amro Clearing, where he facilitated clearing and custody services to provide global coverage to more than 85 exchanges.
He was also part of the business development team at LSE as well as having experience as a trader at Trafalgar Financial Futures.
LSEG said that Wood has a deep understanding that spans across multi asset trading and post trade, including beyond equities such as FX, futures and commodities.
