Janus Henderson has hired Andrew Hendry from Abrdn as head of distribution for Asia excluding Japan as the firm continues to bolster its regional management team.
Hendry, who will be based in Singapore, will join in February 2022 and be tasked with building and diversifying the firm’s business in the region across both the intermediary and institutional channels.
Hendry was previously head of distribution, Asia Pacific at Abrdn, which was previously known as Aberdeen Standard Investments. He has also worked a Westoun Advisors, M&G Investments and Capital Group, where he started his career.
His recruitment is the latest in a string of hires the company has made to its global distribution team this year, including the addition of Tomoyasu Tanimato as head of distribution in Japan in July.
Deutsche Bank Wealth Management announced the appointment of Felicia Tan as Director, Team Leader and Edmund Tee as Vice President, effective November 22, and Dita Darmawan as Director, effective November 25. Based in Singapore, Tan and Tee report to Urs Brudermann; and Darmawan reports to Ingrid Widjaya. Both Brudermann and Widjaya are Group Heads of South-East Asia and report to Shang-Wei Chow, Head of South-East Asia.
With 13 years of private banking experience, Tan joins from BNP Paribas Wealth Management where she was Director, Team Head. Prior to that, she spent over a decade at Credit Suisse, progressing from Relationship Manager to Director. Felicia possesses a wealth of experience in managing both High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients across South-east Asia with Malaysia as the primary focus.
Darmawan joins from UBS where she was a Director. Prior to UBS, she was a Director at Standard Chartered and a Vice President at Barclays Bank. As a native Indonesian and has strong network and access to entrepreneurs locally, she will capitalise on our investment banking proposition to manage and develop business relationships in Indonesia.
Tee has 17 years of experience in the banking and finance industry and joins from BNP Paribas Wealth Management where he was a Vice President, servicing a portfolio of HNW individuals and corporations. Prior to joining BNP Paribas Wealth Management, Edmund was previously with CIMB Private Banking and Credit Suisse.
Cboe Global Markets announced that Albert Torstensson has joined the company’s Data and Access Solutions division as Director, APAC Market Data Sales, based in Hong Kong. In this role, Albert is responsible for the expansion of Cboe’s full suite of market data and analytics offerings across the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to joining Cboe, Torstensson was Business Development Manager at AlphaSights, where he helped establish and broaden its footprint in the capital markets space throughout APAC. Before that, he was a senior sales executive and project manager at Worldwide Business Research.
Indosuez Wealth Management in Asia, the global wealth management brand of Crédit Agricole group, has appointed Senior Relationship Manager Arthur Cheng as Executive Director in the Singapore Branch. He will be tasked with growing the bank’s Greater China client base.
Based in Singapore, Cheng reports to Alfred Low, Head of North Asia Markets and Strategic Partnerships at the bank’s Singapore branch. Cheng has close to 25 years of experience in the banking industry and spent the last 16 years at senior levels in private banking. Prior to his appointment with Indosuez, Arthur held senior wealth management roles in DBS Bank Private Bank and BNP Paribas Private Bank in Hong Kong SAR as well as UBS Taiwan.
