Bespoke wealth manager Paragon Capital Management Singapore has added former Bank of Singapore’s Alpha Team head, Sean Quek, to its team as Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager. Quek will lead the management of a new equities-focused fund that is slated for launch in October.
PCMS CEO & Chief Investment Officer Paul Lee said: “PCMS has identified exciting investment opportunities in the major markets globally and is looking forward to tapping on them to deliver high quality investment solutions to our investors. I am glad to have Sean on board our team, and am confident that his experience in capital markets, wealth management and equity research will add to the depth and breadth of our organization’s investment bench.”
Quek has over 20 years of experience in capital markets and wealth management. He spent nine years with Bank of Singapore, initially as head of equity research, where he was responsible for building up the bank’s primary research team across Singapore and Hong Kong, and played a pivotal role in strengthening the bank’s overall equity advisory business.
Quek’s last position at Bank of Singapore was as Alpha Team Head, which saw him lead an experienced investment team in generating global multi-asset high-conviction investment ideas for the bank. Quek was also a member of the bank’s global asset allocation investment committee.
Prior to Bank of Singapore, Quek worked with Credit Suisse for 14 years, where he eventually served as the firm’s Singapore Head of Research.
