Thomas Margerison latest Marex hire in Middle East push

Marex Prime Services has appointed Thomas Margerison as vice president of the global capital introduction team as it expands into the Middle East.

Based in Dubai, Margerison will provide institutional clients with new investment opportunities, the company said. He will work alongside US, UK and Hong Kong capital introduction teams in this capacity.

Jack Seibald, global co-head of prime services and outsourced trading, commented: “Tom joins us at a time when investor interest in alternative investments is growing across the region, with hedge funds seeking capital to fuel growth and diversification strategies.”

Margerison has a decade of industry experience and joins from capital raising firm Greenstone Equity Partners, where he has been part of the investor relations team for the past year. Prior to this, he was a member of the institutional sales teams at investment manager Aurum and FactSet, based in London.

Marex began its Middle East expansion last month, acquiring Abu Dhabi-headquartered clearing, execution and risk management solutions firm Aarna Capital and appointing Mazen Najjar as vice president of prime sales for the region.

Year-to-date, Marex reported US$1.17 billion in revenue, up 28% on the first nine months of 2023.
